  Carrie Ann make-up consultants will do anything to win the coveted Ruby Kiss pin, the highest sales honor: Some buy extra inventory to inflate their totals; others try to disqualify their colleagues.

  The resulting rivalry as the consultants and assorted other quirky characters gather for their company's national convention in "Carrie Ann's Kiss" at the Booth Playhouse is predictable, yes. Full of stereotypes, of course. But it's also seriously funny.

 It's easy to see the mockumentary influence in this comedy by local playwright Tonya Shuffler. She first wrote it as a screenplay then adapted it to the stage last year for Theater Charlotte. It's also easy to see why the Blumenthal would sponsor it for another run.
