 Dr. Preston Burke won't
be back in the fall, both ABC and Washington's rep have confirmed to TV

"Jericho's"
revival could help or hurt future "save our show" campaigns
  (Related)  or

 "A lot is riding
on this 'Jericho' resurrection," says Alan Sepinwall. "Right
now, fans of every low-rated or canceled show are going to look at this
as proof that if they make their voices loud enough, they can save their
favorite. But at the same time, every network and cable executive will
be watching the ratings whenever 'Jericho' returns. If the numbers don't
do a major turnaround from what the show was doing at the end of this
season, that could be the end not only for 'Jericho,' but any future 'save
our show' efforts. Why should we listen to you, they'll tell the fans
of Low-Rated Sci-Fi Drama X, when CBS did that with 'Jericho' and the
show just failed again?"
