  Innovative new oncology drugs and an increase in prescribing volume due to Medicare Part D drove a rebound in US prescription drug growth of 8.3% for 2006, up from 5.4% in 2005, according to data from IMS Health. Total US sales reached $274.9 billion.
The global market grew 7% for the year, to $643 billion.
